We took Jett & Payton to the snow last week. I know it was the first time Payton had ever played in the snow & I think it may have been the first time she ever even saw it. Thanks to Grandma & Grandpa & all the gear they had for the kids, we got cold & wet long before they did!

Snowflakes

San Francisco Christmas Lights
I had meetings in San Francisco on Tuesday & Wednesday, Mike had a meeting in Modesto on Thursday, so we were able to meet at the Grand Hyatt on Union Square to swap the munchkin & show him the City at Christmas.
We looked at all the Christmas Lights, rode the Cable Car & best of all, watched the Zamboni sweep the ice rink at Union Square. It was a pretty special trip. Jett loved it!
Mommy's Birthday
My Mom helped Jett make a birthday cake for my 29th birthday ~ although Jett kept insisting that I was 11 ~ even better. It was so sweet because when they went to the store & my Mom asked Jett what kind of cake he liked he said chocolate but that his Mommy liked white cake. He's such a thoughtful kid.
My mom took lots of photos of the whole thing & Jett gave me the photos & the cake for my present. I loved them both.
Halloween 2008
I know it's late, but better late than never, right?
This is definitely the last year I get to pick the costume. Daddy already has Jett convinced that it will be much cooler to be a Constuction Worker or a Cowboy than to be the Tin Man or Scarecrow that I want to match Payton's Dorothy for next Halloween. I guess they have to grow up sometime :)

There's No Place Like Home
My Dad, Jett & I flew back to Wichita last weekend for my Grandma's 85th birthday.
It was a quick but wonderful trip although we did have some flight problems. I'm truly annoyed with United right now, but we managed to make it in only a few hours late. Even our luggage got there on Friday, although quite a bit later then we did. We were still able to enjoy almost half of Friday, all of Saturday & almost half of Sunday with my Grandma.
Jett loves & misses everyone back there ~ especially Grandma Great ~ although she's not quite the football player that his cousins are. He played with all of the Great Grandkids. He was the youngest of the bunch but he gave it almost as good as he got it. I had to explain to the preschool that all the bruises all over his legs were from Kansas tackle football & not from me :)
It always makes me sad when I come home & know that we won't see everyone for a little while, but it is comforting to know that Jett has a great relationship with everyone there. I always show him the pictures, he talks on the phone to Grandma Great & to Aunt Debbie & I just really try to make him feel that they are very close & in our lives. It's only miles, after all, not distance.
Ready, Set, Preschool!
Jett started Preschool on August 19th. There were no tears from either of us, surprisingly. There was an open house the week before school started so after the first day he said "I've gone twice and that is it. It's OVER for me!" It was one of the funniest things I've ever heard. There's an amazing staff & the kids are nice & he loves it now.
He goes Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday from 8am to noon. In October I think I'll be switching him from 8am to 2:30pm since he's trying to give up his naps on the preschool days. If he stays until 2:30 then he'll take an hour rest at preschool after lunch. It should also help him go to bed earlier because when he will take a nap on a school day it tends to be a late one & then he wants to stay up later, too.
